Silver Waters
The Estancia was planned by the São Paulo government in the beginning of the 20th century for health treatments with medicinal waters, from the discovery of the first water mine by the dentist Rufino Gavião in 1876. In 1935 it became a Hydromineral Resort being spun off from São João from Boa Vista. It has a receptive structure, restaurants, hotels, inns, pensions, traditional homemade sweets factories, dairy products, eco adventure, religious tourism, cycling and hiking. The highlight is the State Park, popularly called “Bosque”, where two of the city's many mineral water sources are located.
